Apollo Hospitals teams up with Central govt to offer health packages for women

Apollo Hospitals Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development will offer special health packages designed specifically for women.

The special health packages include the Apollo Well Woman Cheq for Rs 1080, Apollo Breast Cheq for Rs 895 and Apollo Cancer Cheq (For women) for Rs 1595. The packages will be available from its hospitals at Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkatta, Ahmedabad and Bangalore for a month.

The aim of this unique tie-up between the Group and the Ministry is to promote early disease detection and timely prevention of diseases, which afflicts a large number of women in India, stated Richard L Larison, managing director, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals.

Apollo Health Checks are an all inclusive health-screening programme that offers the convenience of all tests under one roof. The packages offer a review of the medical history along with a physical examination by a physician and an exhaustive set of tests and assays that carried out at the hospital's NABL certified laboratory.

The Apollo Group has also released a booklet to educate women about such diseases.

Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, India's first Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited hospital, is a joint venture between the Government of Delhi and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited. Built over an area of 15 acres it houses 57 specialties with over 300 specialists and has 559 operational beds, 19 operation theatres, 138 ICU beds, round the clock pharmacy, NABL accredited laboratories, 24 hour Emergency Services and an active air ambulance service. The Apollo Blood Bank is the first and the only one in the country to introduce the NAT testing of blood to enhance blood safety. Apollo Hospitals entered into a long-term agreement with Johns Hopkins Medicine International in 2005 to create far reaching programs in both institutions that will improve the quality of care, benchmark and establish best practices, and embark on joint research programs, which will advance medicine worldwide.
