Apollo-Medvarsity offers PG Diploma course in hospital administration

Medvarsity, the medical educational wing of Apollo Hospitals Group is all set to offer an exclusive Post Graduate Diploma course in Hospital Administration from August this year. The one-year course includes a minimum of two weeks contact program at the Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata and Bangalore.

Sources from the Medvarsity said that there is a need for properly trained hospital administrators in the burgeoning healthcare sector to design and deliver quality health services. The course with its integrated inputs would be useful to the students to attain strong conceptual and technical knowledge in various management areas, besides improving their analytical capabilities to prepare them for becoming able administrators.

"The primary objective of this Diploma Course is to train medical and non-medical graduates to undertake a wider range of administrative and managerial responsibilities within hospital organizations. This will help the hospitals to a great extent to be managed professionally and in-turn deliver quality healthcare to the patients," the branch in charge of Medvarsity said.

Since healthcare industry is one among the fastest growing sectors in the world requiring huge manpower, the chances for employment for those who complete this course are plenty. The corporate hospitals and other agencies do play very good roles in guiding and imparting progressive ways to the trained people.

Students with MBBS, BHMS, BDS, BAMS and Graduates in Physiotherapy, Paramedical Sciences and those from life sciences are eligible to seek admission to the course. However, Graduates in other disciplines will also be considered for admission. The course fee is Rs 28,000.

Medvarsity and Apollo Group will assist for placements of students after successful completion of course. The course is divided into 4 study modules with each having an assessment through online. There will be project work also. Apollo Hospitals Group has a total of 37 hospitals in India and Abroad.
