APSICON 2002 to highlight latest progress in plastic surgery

The five-day All India Plastic Surgeons Conference (APSICON) 2002 to be held in Bangalore between November 26- 30, 2002 will have around 500 Indian delegates out of the total 750 plastic surgeons in the country. The first day of the event, which is a workshop, will be conducted at the Manipal Hospital and subsequently; the conference which is essentially a CME (continuing medical education) programme for senior plastic surgeons will take place at Taj Residency here in the city. Nearly 10 to 12 international faculty from the US, UK and Australia will provide an insight on the latest, cost-effective methods of plastic surgery.

The digitised conference will have 20 computers covering live all sessions of the meet. There will also be several presentations titled 'How I do it' on a CD(compact disk) presentation. There is also an interactive web site where participants can register on www.apsicon2002.com.

While the APSICON president is Dr. Sadashiva Murthy, Dr. Uday Shankar of MS Ramaiah Institute of Medical Sciences heads the Karnataka chapter. Dr. Niranjan Kumar, chief of plastic surgery, Manipal Hospital is the organising secretary. Dr. Y Anantheswar, plastic surgeon Manipal Hospital and Dr. Sujay Rao are the joint organising secretaries.
