Arogyaamrutham Vaidyasala planning expansion at a cost of Rs.8 lakh.

Chennai based Arogyaamrutham Vaidyasala, a part of the Dhanwanthari Foundation for Ayurvedic Research and Panchakarma, is planning to start a 10 bedded in-patient (IP) facility in T Nagar Chennai within a year, as a part of its expansion plan.

The new facility will be coming up on an area of 2500 sq ft with an investment of Rs.8 lakh. The facility will have three beds meant for people undergoing panchakarma treatment and 10 beds for IP. Two visiting doctors will be added to the new clinic and there are plans to appoint 4 to 5 masseurs for panchakarma treatment. Arogyaamrutham is also planning to have a exclusive yoga classes in the proposed clinic.

Speaking about the plan to Pharmabiz, Dr Sumitha, consultant with Arogyaamrutham said, that the manufacturing unit had been expanded by adding few more equipments like double cone blender, disintegrator and boiler. The investment for the same was Rs. 1 lakh.

She said that there were plans to bring out new ayurvedic medicines for the eye, liver and children (body oil). The work for manufacturing the same is on in the unit. It can be noted that Arogyaamrutham had launched four new products a few months back, namely Ostion, for arthritis, PC tablets for cold, englo for blood sugar control and diabetes and another medicine for cholesterol. Medicines for prostate enlargement, renal, bladder and Kidney stone are also in the pipeline.

As Pharmabiz reported earlier, the Vaidyasala had plans to commission a new manufacturing unit in Chennai with an investment of Rs 1 crore and the company is in search for a suitable location. At present, the firm has a manufacturing capacity of 10,000 tablets per day.
