AstraZeneca Pharma India has posted net sales for Rs. 32.22 crore for its first quarter ended March 31, 2003. A growth of over 24 per cent over Rs.26.01 crore was recorded during the same period of 2002.
The net profit has surged to Rs. 2.73 crore. In comparison this was only Rs.44.09 lakh during the same period last year. Profit before tax was only Rs 5.44 crore with a tax provision of Rs.2.10 crore.
The pharma company's total expenditure for January –March 2003 was Rs.27.31 crore.
