AstraZeneca Pharma net up by 20% in Q2

AstraZeneca Pharma India has clocked net profit growth of 20.3 per cent during the second quarter ended September 2011 to Rs.21.08 crore from Rs.17.53 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Its EBDITA moved up to Rs.33.23 crore from Rs.27.89 crore, a growth of 19.2 per cent. The earnings per share worked out to Rs.8.43 as compared to Rs.7.01 in the last period. The net sales improved by 14.2 per cent to Rs.142.01 crore from Rs.124.37 crore. The sales of healthcare grew to Rs.142.06 crore during the quarter under review from Rs.124.43 crore.


For the six months ended September 2011, the company's net sales touched to Rs.286.21 crore and it earned a net profit of Rs.37.83 crore. The comparable figures are not available as the company changed its accounting year from January-December to April-March and accounting period for the year ending March 31, 2011 was for a period of 15 months.


For the 15 months period ended March 2011, AstraZeneca's net sales amounted to Rs.574.36 crore and its net profit was at Rs.64.13 crore.
