Automed Systems P Limited, a biotechnology instrumentation major has now teamed up PBI International, Italy for their entire range of products which are to be marketed in India.

Automed and PBI will provide calibration and validation services for the entire range of products to meet the GMP and GLP standards as per US FDA. In the first phase of launch, Automed Systems would focus on the range of instruments from PBI and in the second phase, would be launching PBI consumables in the country All PBI products confirm to GLP and GMP standards. The company offers a wide range of consumables and instruments catering to the research and pharma industry.

The marketing alliance will help Automed Systems to be able to add value to their customers in the biotechnology, microbiology and diagnostics segments, through the range of instruments and consumables from PBI Italy, informed T K Bhanu Prakash, director, Automed Systems.

The Italy-based PBI is currently recognized a leading supplier of laboratory products. The company has developed its own production facilities by capitalizing on its experience, particularly in the microbiology and hygienic field. In fact, the products of PBI are available worldwide through a network of more than 150 qualified distributors.

Before being produced, all prototypes of each new PBI product are repeatedly field-tested by close customers, consistently supervised by PBI product specialists and technicians and finally modified as required until their performance is fully satisfactory. “This leads to instruments that have all the essential functionality to perform effectively, without unnecessary complexity,” Bhanu Prakash said.

At production facility, located in Monza near Milan, incorporates a modern manufacturing plant where the instruments are designed, manufactured, assembled, tested, packaged and dispatched to customers worldwide.

“Our philosophy with regard to manufacture is to outsource non-value added activities and to focus on assembling and testing. We measure delivery performance and actively seek continual improvement, noted Bhanu Prakash.

PBI is globally known for its range of air samplers; an instrument that helps professionals measures the quality of air in laboratories, factories and external environment. “Air sampling is a statutory requirements in pharmaceuticals, hospitals, laboratories and clean rooms. Further, air sampling helps in evaluating the microbial contamination in air.

Some of the other PBI products for the pharma and biotech space include, plastic disposables, Safety, hygiene, products for HACCP confirmation.
