Aventis Pharma, the second largest MNC in India, has recorded net profit growth of 12.1 per cent during the second quarter ended June 2008 to Rs 41.8 crore from Rs 37.3 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Its net sales increased by 8 per cent to Rs 248.60 crore from Rs 230.2 crore. The earning per share moved up to Rs 18.17 from Rs 16.22 in the last period.
For the first six months of 2009, Aventis net profit declined by 5.3 per cent to Rs 76.3 crore from Rs 80.6 crore and its sales increased only by 5.1 per cent to Rs 465.5 crore from Rs 443.1 crore. The profit before tax also declined by 2.4 per cent to Rs 119.9 crore from Rs 122.9 crore in the similar period of last year.
The company's net sales for the full year ended December 2007 touched to Rs 873.50 crore and it earned a net profit of Rs 144.4 crore. The management declared equity dividend of 350 per cent on an equity capital of Rs 23 crore. The earning per share for the full year worked out to Rs 62.71.
