Ayurveda Parva 2018 highlights key benefits of traditional medicine to simplify diabetes management

Sri Sri Tattva along with Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital conducted Ayurveda Parv 2018 to highlight the key benefits of traditional medicine to simplify diabetes management.

According to the International Diabetes Federation, by 2030, 8.4% adult Indians  will have diabetes and is expected to go up to 101.1 million. Given the gravity of the situation, this year’s symposium is focused on diabetes to create awareness about how Ayurveda will approach the disease to balance sugar levels in the body without causing any health complications. Speakers included  Dr. Anantharaman, Dr. Padmanabha Rao, Dr. Sucharitha and  Dr. S. N. Bhat.

The three day  AYURVEDA PARV 2018 held from February 16-18,  organized by the All India Ayurvedic Congress and supported by the Ministry of Ayush emphasized the holistic wellness in traditional medicine.

Devendra Triguna President, All India Ayurvedic Congress and Prof. Gurudip Singh were conferred  National Dhanwantary Ayurveda Award in the presence of Dr. Manoj Nesari, Advisor Ministry of Ayush.  

Dr. B. R. Ramakrishna, Director of S-Vyasa University addressed about diabetes management. The findings of the research advancements to simplify diabetes management was conducted by Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS).

The event also witnessed a workshop on traditional healing techniques by Dr. B A Venkatesh, Principal, Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital. The  event displayed products of  ayurvedic medicine manufacturers. It addressed the lifestyle challenges faced in the modern world and how Ayurveda can help overcome these. Additionally, the event had free health check-ups, diabetes treatments and holistic healthcare guidance program for consumers. The event also imparted knowledge and provided reading material on ayurvedic plants and home remedies along with skill development workshop.

Among those present included   Sri Sri Ravishankar, Minister for State for Ayush Shripad Y Naik, and Karnataka health and family welfare minister KR Ramesh Kumar.

“Ayurveda Parv is a celebration of India’s legacy of Ayurveda. We brought  forth to masses the benefits of a result-oriented and cost-effective healthcare solution that has the potential to lead India to become a disease free society, said Arvind Varchaswi, Managing Director, Sri Sri Tattva.

“We have  seen the importance of Ayurveda being revived in the last couple of years. But consumers still need to be informed about this  holistic healthcare system”, said  Tej Katpitia, CEO, Sri Sri Tattva.
