The Ahmedabad-based BAAP Diagnostics Ltd has been awarded an accreditation by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). BAAP is part of BA Research India Limited, one of the leading Clinical Research Organisations, headquartered in Ahmedabad and specializing in conducting clinical phase and analysing samples for bioequivalence and bioavailability studies.

A CAP audited diagnostic laboratory, often has great advantage as the facility, is already benchmarked to be of globally approved standards and thereby fastens the process of approvals from global regulatory bodies. It also enables the CRO to conduct tests in a protected environment, making its services more cohesive.

According to a company release, during the CAP accreditation process, inspectors examined the laboratory's records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. The CAP inspectors also examined the entire staff's qualifications, the laboratory's equipment, facilities, safety programme and record, as well as the overall management of the laboratory.
