Babycell and Neogen Labs collaborate to promote social cause through newborn screening
Babycell, a cord blood banking company and Neogen Labs, one of the prominent centers in screening Inborn Errors of Metabolism (IEM) announced a strategic tie up to bring world class health care to the newborns through Newborn Screening tests.

Newborn screening is the practice of testing every newborn with a single drop of dried blood for certain harmful or potentially irreversible Inborn Errors of Metabolism that is not otherwise apparent at birth. Worldwide four lakh babies affected by IEMs and 20 per cent suffer with mental retardation which is avoidable if IEM done on time which make the difference between lifelong impairment and healthy development.
