He said, "Zoptix is the result of Bausch & Lomb's continuous research efforts to develop innovative technologies in eyecare. Having already caught many a centre across the world by storm, we are confident of the technique becoming the first choice in surgical vision correction among Opthalmologists in India."

While speaking to www.pharmabiz.com at a media meet, Dr. K P Reddy, a renowned ophthalmic surgeon of the country, said that Zyoptix corrects the common vision defects such as myopia and Hyperopia. This new technology also provides a customized method to measure and correct even the higher end aberrations, he said.

According to Dr. Sanjeev Shah, an ophthalmic surgeon, the Zyoptix treatment will cost between 30,000 to 40,000 approximately in Mumbai and the costs will vary in different states of the country. The cost of the Zyoptic machine used for the surgery will be around Rs. 2.5 crore, he added.
