Bayer Animal Health has introduced K9 Advantix, a new triple-protection mosquito, tick and flea control product that provides monthly protection for dogs against these three common parasites, which are the vectors of many serious diseases and health conditions.

"Mosquitoes, ticks and fleas are more than an inconvenience, they are known carriers of serious diseases such as Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever and the West Nile virus, which can pose significant health risks to dogs," said Dr. Cary Christensen, Bayer Director of Veterinary Technical Services. "K9 Advantix is a remarkable product that kills all three parasites on contact and even repels mosquitoes and ticks before they bite to reduce the risk of disease transmission."

"K9 Advantix is a breakthrough product that provides unparalleled parasite control, including mosquitoes, which is critical to protecting the health of dogs," said John Payne, President and General Manager, Bayer HealthCare LLC, Animal Health Division. "Providing veterinarians and pet parents with the latest generation of effective pet health care products is what we're all about," said Payne.

K9 Advantix is a topical solution that is a unique combination of two proven ingredients -- imidacloprid and permethrin -- that work synergistically to repel and kill parasites. The combined compounds overwhelm the parasite's nervous system, which leads to rapid paralysis and death.
