Bio-Rad, ICT come together to provide solutions to Indian pharma industry
Bio-Rad Laboratories India, in association with the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, has organized a two-day national level seminar on Preparative and Process Chromatography. The seminar is being organized with the view to share, develop and enhance the science of chromatographic separations and generate manpower and expertise for Indian biotech and pharma industry.
Speaking with Pharmabiz Dhiren Wagle, country manager, Bio-Rad India said, "Our intention behind the joint initiative is to give the Indian industry a much needed platform to discuss and get provide solutions in the science of chromatography." He said, "Bio-Rad is identified as world leaders in providing a broad range of world-class innovative services and solutions to the clinical diagnostics and life science research market. Our initiative shall work as a catalyst and help enable the biotech and pharma industry in exploring cost-effective solutions in the chromatography practices that they have been following over the years. We are willing to start this kind of seminar in other cities also. We are planning to conduct seminar in Pune during the first quarter of the 2008."
Chromatography is one of the most effective and popular techniques for bio molecule separations and its applications and usage for bio and pharma sector are immense.

When Pharmabiz asked about company's product pipeline for the domestic as well as in the international market, Wagle, said, "Currently, we are in the process to develop new product for the diabetes care. As to consider Indian population demand, we are basically preparing for the general practitioners. The product has unique features and we are willing to launch this product in the domestic market by the end of October 2007".
