Sixteen MoUs and 11 pre-MoUs have been signed by 30 Indian companies after 70 one-to-one meetings with 40 delegates during the BioAsia 2005 taken place from February 10 to 12.
Forty delegates representing companies and individual entrepreneurs from Canada, Germany, Iran, Italy, Malaysia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Thailand and USA participated in the Business Forum, while thirty Indian companies and institutions took part in the interactive meet.
The National Research Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (NRCGEB), Tehran, Iran has signed an MoU with Sudershan Biotech Limited, India to collaborate in the area of technology transfer, development of biopharmaceuticals, industrial enzymes, recombinant HCV anti serums (diagnostics). NRCGEB has signed an MoU with Gonotex International (India) Private Limited to collaborate in the development of molecular biologicals, enzymes, gene mapping and transgenics, besides agri-biotechnology.
Medipak Limited, Lahore, Pakistan has signed an MoU with Sudershan Biotech to collaborate in the area of bio-diagnostics-operations and technology transfer. It has signed MoUs with Natco Pharma for supply of raw materials for oncological and other APIs, and with Bharat Biotech International to collaborate in the manufacture of bio-pharmaceuticals. An MoU has been signed with the All India Biotech Association (AIBA) for networking with AIBA for exchange of information on emerging biotech products. Medipak also signed an MoU with Otira Pharmaceuticals for cooperation in procurement of APIs from India and new drug innovations.
