BioAsia 2005, Asia's one of the biggest biotechnology event, is being organized at Hyderabad from February 10 to 12, 2005. The event, promoted by the government of Andhra Pradesh and Southern Chapter of All India Biotech Association, is expected to serve as an ideal platform for companies, government and technologists across the globe to transact business, build global alliances and collaborations, showcase products and services and network with industry leaders and research scientists.
BioAsia 2005 will include a Tradeshow, a conference, a B2B forum and special events like CEO Conclave and Awards Night. The event is likely to attract 50 exhibitors, 500 conference delegates, 60 international speakers, 15,000 visitors from across the globe, participation from 30 leading biotech countries.
According to the organizers, a total exhibition space of 550 sq. mts. is already booked. Bharat Biotech, Suven Life Sciences, Ocimum Biosolutions, Magene Life Sciences, ICRISAT, Sun Micro Systems, Amity International, British Trade Office, Finpro and IGCC have confirmed their participation.
The conference will focus on areas such as current opportunities in biopharmaceuticals industry, scope for partnering, bio-entrepreneurship, Bio-IT, opportunities in agri-biotechnology.
Dr Ashok, deputy secretary and director of Biotechnology, Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, speaking to reporters, informed that the B2B forum will focus on investment opportunities in the biopharmaceutical industry in India. Venture capitalists, financial institutions and other investors are likely to participate in the forum. Delegations from US, Germany, Italy, Pakistan, UK, Finland, Switzerland, Sweden, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and Iran have confirmed their participation.
