Biocon chief, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw has figured in the list of world's most powerful women in business of Fortune magazine. She was chosen as one among the most powerful women in business for her outstanding contribution to the field of biotechnology.

The chairman and managing director, Biocon is also the head of the Vision Group on Biotechnology, government of Karnataka. Shaw is also the Chairperson and Mission Leader of CII's National Task Force on Biotechnology, the guiding force behind ABLE (Association for Biotechnology Led Enterprises) and Chairperson of Karnataka's Vision Group on Biotechnology.
