Biocon Limited company has now made available the clinical trial data pertaining to its 3 insulin formulations on its website. It has become the first Indian company to share clinical trial data on its website, an official release claimed. The data published in the site include insulin formulations -regular, NPH and Biphasic Isophane.

Following the recent Genetic Engineering Approval Committee (GEAC) approval (14th July 2004) for the manufacture and marketing of r- Human Insulin, this unique effort of sharing clinical trial data online makes Biocon the first Indian company to do so, the company said.

Biocon has created an online database to pool information from various clinical studies conducted by the company and will provide summaries of trial protocols and corresponding results. Clinical trial data will be posted on an independent section of the corporate website.

Commenting on the launch of the online clinical trial data, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, chairman and MD, Biocon Limited, said, "While this practice is not mandatory, Biocon has taken this initiative in an effort to reiterate our principles of corporate governance both in spirit and practice."
