BSE Healthcare touches all-time peak level at 16795.37 points, Sensex crosses 30000 mark

BSE Healthcare index of 16 companies has taken a quantum jump of 398.07 points or 2.4 per cent in morning session today and touched to its all-time highest level at 16795.37 as against its previous day's highest level of 16499.73. BSE Healthcare index opened at 16435.99 points. All healthcare scrip form the index, except Apollo Hospitals, moved up strongly. The BSE Sensex also touched all-time peak level and cross 30,000 mark at 30024 points in the morning session today. However, with some selling pressure the index was moving around 29833.83 points.

The pharma majors like Sun Pharmaceuticals, Ranbaxy Laboratories and Cipla registered handsome gain in the morning session and touched to their yearly highest level. Sun Pharmaceuticals moved to Rs.1004.30 as against its yesterday's closing of Rs.942.40 on the BSE. Similarly, Ranbaxy went up to highest level at Rs.781 as compared to close of Rs.731.15 in the previous day. Similarly, Cipla scrip registered strong growth and moved up to its new high level at Rs.746.50 in the morning session from its previous day's close of Rs.738.40.

Sun Pharma scrip jumped by Rs.53.25 to Rs.995.65 in the first session of today on BSE, a gain of 5.7%. Ranbaxy also went up by Rs.42.85 or 5.9 per cent to Rs.774 and GlaxoSmithKline scrip up by Rs.34.4 or 1.1 per cent to Rs.3132.90. Wockhardt is moving ahead very fast and it improved today by Rs.16.45 to Rs.1679.35 as against its previous close of Rs.1662.90. Lupin touched to its new yearly high yesterday and moved up by Rs.12.25 to Rs.1815.40. Dr Reddy's share went up by over Rs.30 to Rs.3440.70

Aurobindo Pharma, Glenmark, Biocon, Divi's Laboratories, Ipca Labs, Cadila Healthcare and Piramal Enterprises also got strong support and moved up in the morning session today.
