Burnet Pharma, Klar Sehen to engage Progen's ERP for business integration

As the pharmaceutical companies are largely going for compliance with standardization especially in line with the revised good manufacturing practices and better documentation process, an indigenously developed ERP System that covers all functional areas in a pharmaceutical enterprise, Progens' ERP (PERP), has been accepted by the local industry overwhelmingly.

PERP is a pharma specific business integration solution, which has been primarily selected by these companies because it understands the typical requirements of the pharma industry like batch wise tracking, FDA compliance, manufacturing and expiry dates, shelf life, approved vendors etc. The software solution, which is already been installed at two Mumbai-based companies such as Themis Medicare and Krupp Pharma, would soon be working in another seven large and medium scale companies.

Of late, the Kolkata-based Burnet Pharmaceuticals and Klar Sehen have individually chosen this software solution to fully integrate their business activities. Burnet Pharma, which specializes in formulations in oral, liquids, tablets and capsules, has its corporate office at Kolkata and factories situated both at Kolkata and Gorakhpur. The company as part of business modernization plan has decided to go for an ERP system to link all its activities and having online information right from procurement to sales.

According to Burnet sources, the company had analysed five other ERP solutions and it found PERP to be more practical and suitable for pharma companies as it meets most of their requirements. "PERP will be implemented by Burnet Pharma at all the sites for all modules soon," said a company spokesperson.

Klar Sehen Private Limited, which specializes in ophthalmology and has its active presence in E.N.T. and pediatrics has also approved PERP to automate its business processes. "The aim of the company in deployment of an ERP was to improve efficiency and to have better systems and procedures and we also found PERP a comprehensive system and it was made-to-order for small to medium sized Pharma companies,'' Klar sources said. The package will be implemented at the head office and factory, both being in Kolkata.
