C Square creates awareness on need for speed & efficiency in pharmacy trade
C Square Info, IT solutions provider, has geared up on a massive drive to create an environment of speed and efficiency with information technology applications in pharmacy trade. In this regard, the company organised a series of seminars in five districts of Karnataka: Hubli, Belgaum, Raichur, Mysore and Bangalore to create an awareness for the pharmacy trade sector particularly the wholesale- distributor segment.
At the seminar in Bangalore on ‘Future of Pharma in India’, organised jointly by Intel India and C Square had over 150 top pharma supply chain participants. These included representatives from AstraZeneca, Zydus, British India Company, Elder Pharmacy, GlaxoSmithKline and Ranbaxy besides major pharma distributors from Bangalore , Mysore, Kolar, Chintamani and Bangarpet. In addition, there was also representation from the pharmacy chains like Trust, Religare, Green Apple, Celebrate Health & Aushad apart from hospitals pharmacies of Narayan Hrudayalaya, Manipal Hospital, Fortis Hospital and Santosh Hospital.
Frank Martinez, director, Digital Inclusion & Govt PC Programmes, Intel World Ahead Program, Intel Corporation who came in from the US highlighted the positive impact of Information Technology on small and medium-sized enterprises.

Kiran Das, executive VP, Sven Genetch Ltd., stated that infrastructure especially in the rural markets would drive the growth for pharma marketing. Supply chain professionals needed to look at expanding the reach of affordable medicines with adoption of latest technology. This is where even the Unique Identification (UID) process would be the best cost effective option for ensuring medicines reach the population.
Sripal Bachawat, director- Future Products, C Square Info Solutions, provided a peek into the company’s efforts to create an eco system in the pharma supply chain. “In order to simplify technology usage, the company had developed a 2-D barcode based security and information transfer mechanism which would revolutionize and simplify work processes of drug sales in pharmacy outlets located even in the remote areas even if they had no access to internet.”
