Cadila Healthcare, a Rs.5,180 crore pharma major from Ahmedabad, has suffered setback and its consolidated net profit declined by 11.7 per cent to Rs.95.14 crore during the second quarter ended September 2012 from Rs.102.68 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The lower profit is mainly due to higher employees cost and taxation. Its EBDITA also declined by 4.4 per cent to Rs.237.09 crore from Rs.248.11 crore. However, its net sales moved up by 24 per cent to Rs.1,513 crore from Rs.1,220 crore. With fall in profits, its earnings per share worked out to Rs.4.65 as against Rs.5.01 in the last period.
For the first half ended September 2012, Cadila's net sales increased by 26.5 per cent to Rs.3028.60 crore from Rs.2393.15 crore in the similar period of last year. Its net profit declined by 12.8 per cent to Rs.289.93 crore from Rs.332.50 crore.
