The Hyderabad-based Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) is holding an Indo-French Conference on 'RNAi in Genome Control' from December 12 to 14.
Bruno Rouot, Attache for Science & Technology, French Embassy will inaugurate the conference.
The Indo-French meeting "RNAi in genome control" will address most aspects of biology and application of RNA interference. The conference will explore recent developments in understanding the molecular mechanisms and cell biology of RNA-based post-transcriptional silencing and analyze the mechanisms involved in the RNA silencing phenomena among a variety of organisms. The conference is aimed to bring leading RNA experts of two countries together from academia and industries, postdoctoral scientists, graduate research students and scientific managers on a same platform. This event provides an excellent opportunity to unravel several mysteries of the magic technology in this fast growing field and guide to provide future directions, perspectives and solution of problems as well as to develop new collaborative initiatives in academic and commercial settings.
The husband and wife duo Dr Utpal Bhadra from Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology and Dr Manika Pal Bhadra from Indian Institute of Chemical Technology who are one of the pioneers in the discovery of RNA interference are organizing this conference locally. They also discovered several milestones of RNAi technology and want to explore more in the present conference.
