Dr. Lakshmipathy Research Centre for Ayurveda, a branch of Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and Siddha (CCRAS), will conduct a national seminar on the management of geriatric disorders in Ayurveda and Siddha on 19th and 20th of August at Chennai.
The seminar is aimed to review the current trends in Ayurveda and Siddha research on the management and prevention of Jaravyadhi (old age problems) like multiple health problems apart from socio-economic and behavioral problems. Along with this, critical review of classical literature of Ayurveda and Siddha on geriatrics will also be included in the programme.
The program is focused on scientists and experts from Ayurveda, Alopathy and Siddha systems of medicines. Experts will present about 40 papers on clinical, drug and literary research from various parts of the nation. Besides, guest lectures on various aspects of geriatrics and a drugs exhibition would be conducted, said Dr Gopakumar, Assistant Director (Ay.), Dr. A Lakshmipathi Research Centre for Ayurveda.
The program is conducted with the support of Department of Ayush, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
Sheela Rani Chunkath, Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Tamil Nadu will inaugurate the program. Shiv Basen, Joint Secretary, Department of Ayush, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, will preside the function. V.P.Siddhan, Chairman, Chairman of Cholayil Medimix group of companies and Dr.G.Veluchamy, Director, CCRAS, Tamil Nadu will also attend the function, said the organisers.
