Channabasweshwar Pharmacy College organises food & drug adulteration & social awareness exhibition in Latur

Channabasweshwar Pharmacy College, Latur, recently organised food and drug adulteration & social awareness exhibition at the college. The exhibition was jointly organised with Department of Food & Drug Administration District office Latur.

Dr S S Thonte, principal, Channabasweshwar Pharmacy College, Latur highlighted main objectives behind organising the exhibition and expressed his views on need of organising such public awareness activities to promote public health. He also briefed on regular activities being under taken by the institution.

Dr Subhas Vatte expressed that in the present modern scientific and competitive world it is necessary to provide education on quality, safety, purity and use of food and drugs, so that customers rights should be exposed to the common public.

Shivajirao Patil Kavekar informed the essentiality of public awareness programme on health welfare. He highlighted that, the public health is depend upon three parameters hygienic condition, proper nutritious food and standard quality drugs but today many drugs exists in the market, such as spurious and misbranded which are harmful to public health.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the president, Osmanabad District Council Dr Subhas Vatte, Shivajirao Patil Kavhekar (ex. MLA), Babasahebh Kore, drug inspector, Sunil Gavli, food inspector, Bhimashankar Devnikar, Ashok Sangvikar, principal Dr S S Thonte were present on this occasion.

In this exhibition about eighty identification of food & drug adulteration, crude drug adulteration & some stalls on social awareness like manufacturing techniques of drugs, community development schemes, weight and measures, saving water, saving energy, save. girl, save nation, AIDS awareness, TB awareness, leprosy awareness, importance of patient counselling, safety drugs, physically handicapped rehabilitation scheme, cultivation of medicinal plants in a fascinating way, first aid treatment, etc. exhibition was kept open for all school & college students and general public throughout district. The students of various fields like pharmacy, agriculture, ayurvedic, medical, dental, homoeopath, persons from medical and paramedical field and general public attended the event.
