China Med (International Medical Instruments and Equipment Exhibition) jointly organized by the Medical Department of the General Logistics Department, Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), China World Trade Center Co., Ltd., China Hui Tong (Group) Corporation, and Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd., was successfully concluded at China International Exhibition Center on April 29, 2004.
Since its debut in 1989, China Med has seen fifteen successive fruitful events, with the size and the number of exhibitors increasing on an annual basis. The most recent events have each registered more than US$30 million of turnover. Every year the event receives tens of thousands of professionals from trade companies, research institutions, governmental organizations, and hospital procurement and administration teams interested in the medical equipment industry. Recently, China Med was approved as a member of UFI (Union des Foires Internationales), highly influential in the medical circles home and abroad, China Med has become one of the major international medical equipment exhibition events in China and the only one which won the membership of UFI in medical instruments industry in China.
China Med 2004 has attracted around 400 exhibitors this year. With an exhibition area of 20,000 square meters, and within which 60 per cent is international exhibitors. The event had received five major participating groups from Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Finland. And exhibitors were coming from all the continents, covering countries and regions including China, U. S., Germany, Japan, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Canada, Malaysia, Italy, the Netherlands, South Korea, Belgium, Brazil, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), and Taiwan.
Leading enterprises with key influences on the medical equipment industry were among the participating parties. GE, Philips, Siemens, Toshiba, Madison Medical, Schiller, Olympus, Kodak, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Taiyo Koeki Co., Ltd., and Beijing Fukuda Denshi Medical Instruments Co., Ltd. and Shengyang Neusoftdigital Medical System Co., Ltd., featuring nearly 80 per cent of famous brands, continuing their support.
Based on last year, this year's event has increased the exhibition area and attracted newcomers such as Konica, Tyco, and Pan-Pacific etc. All in all, this year's International Medical Instruments and Equipment Exhibition became the most prestigious and influential event in the Chinese medical industry.
At the same time, jointly organized by the PLA General Logistics Department and CCPIT Beijing Sub-Council, and under the co-sponsorship of the PLA General Equipment Department, PLA Navy General Logistics Department, PLA Air Force General Logistics Department, and PLA Second Artillery Force General Logistics Department, the 4th Beijing International Military Logistics Equipment and Technology Exhibition was held in Beijing Exhibition Hall in tandem with China Med 2004. Held every five years, Beijing International Military Logistics Equipment and Technology Exhibition coincided with China Med for the first time, offering a golden opportunity for interested professionals home and abroad to examine virtually all major Chinese and foreign brands of medical equipment, conduct the comparative study, and negotiate for the deal, all at once in just four days.
It's reported that during the 4-day show, China Med 2004 totally registered 35,686 visitors/time. Besides local visitors from all over China, it also attracted a lot of visitors from overseas including Korea, America, France, Vietnam, Pakistan, Singapore, Indonesia, Russia, Ukraine, Iran, etc..
Meanwhile, "Press Conference on Medical Equipment Bid Invitation and Procurement for PLA" was held in tandem with China Med 2004. As disclosed by the organizer, the total bid amount of imported equipment for PLA this year reached US$40 million. Based on the buyer groups composed of military representatives in the previous events, this year, the trade fair has invited procurement representatives from Armed Police Hospitals. It has always been a great advantage for the International Medial Instruments and Equipment Exhibition to organize buyer groups to visit and make orders on site at the trade fair. During the exhibition, both visitors and exhibitors were also provided with chances to participate in various technical exchanges and seminars organized by China Old Age Health Care Medical Research Institute, China Clinic Medical Institute and part of the exhibitors, so as to find out the advanced medical equipment and application technologies in the world and carry out technical exchanges.
China Med 2005 will be held from April 24 - 27, 2005.
