Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. announced that its “Annual Report 2015” published in March 2016 won the Grand Prize in the 19th Nikkei Annual Report Awards for the second consecutive year.

Chugai started to publish the annual report in an integrated form, from “Annual Report 2012,” and made various efforts to promote a better understanding of its unique strengths and corporate value among a wide range of stakeholders. As a result, “Annual Report 2012” and “Annual Report 2013” won the Second Prize, and “Annual Report 2014” and “Annual Report 2015” won the Grand Prize. We have received high evaluation for the fourth year in a row since we started publishing the integrated report.

While maintaining consistency with our existing message, we challenged ourselves to fully reconsider the structure of the Annual Report 2015 by focusing on readability to make the report unique. In the special feature section, as it was the first year of our new mid-term business plan “IBI 18,” we explained how Chugai would evolve and refine its unique strengths and introduced examples of outcomes from its strengths. We also featured a conversation between the deputy chairman and the outside directors on Chugai’s history of value creation and future outlook.

Chugai will continue its effort to disclose information in an easily understandable manner in order to help satisfy the needs of our stakeholders.
