The workshop will focus on issues such as- IP culture and its imperatives, Global best practices in IP management, Leveraging IPR in enhancing competitiveness in global market, Protection of IPRs in India and abroad, Commercialisation of IPRs, Road map to create IP management team in organizations, India post 2005-myths and realities.
It is necessary for the corporates to align IPR in their business strategy to stay competitive, technology- focused and to avoid threat of 'litigation' or 'infringement' issues. Due attention is required to be given to creativity and innovation if one wishes to create wealth out of IP and effective mechanisms to identify inventions in order to convert them into tangible assets need to be developed. IP promotion, identification and protection are going to rule the day, K Subodh Kumar, Counselor-Technology, APTDC told Pharmabiz.
An 'IP culture' provides the right stimulus for intellectual creations to be recognized, protected and most importantly commercialized. IPR departments in established corporates, Technology Transfer Cells in industries and institutes can play a catalytic role in bringing this culture, he added.
About 200 delegates are expected to attend the workshop. And the workshop is designed to suit CEO's, R & D heads, researchers, scientists, academicians etc.
