The Biotechnology sub-committee of Confederation of Indian Industry (Northern Region) is organizing a Biotechnology Mission to select companies in Bangalore on December 5 and 6. The companies to be visited are Biocon India Limited, AstraZeneca India Private Limited, Monsanto Research Centre and Institute of Bioinformatics & Applied Biotechnology. The visit would include a meeting with the top management, presentation, discussion and a plant visit.

According to a CII note, the mission is to provide an opportunity to professionals from various organizations to get a direct feel of best practices and applications in biotechnology and give them an insight into the practical aspects of implementing these practices. It is also meant to understand the existing knowledge base to promote research and to take advantage of technology to enhance competitiveness.
