CII plans "building innovative pharma" workshop in Delhi on Nov 5

Confederation of Indian Industry is organizing a two-day workshop on "Building Innovative Pharma in India" from November 5, 2004 in New Delhi.

The workshop is to have special sessions on 'branding India the hub of innovation', 'fostering research and development', 'IPR -taking stock', 'bridging regulatory gaps', 'training and education - strengthening R&D base', 'academia industry alliance for training talent' and 'way forward for regulation and IP'.

"Building Innovative Pharma in India" envisions a roadmap for India by focusing on the issues of imminent importance and emerging with crucial recommendations. It will provide a platform for cross - sharing of experiences between the Indian and International Industry in R&D, showcasing India's strengths in R&D and Promoting India as a hub of Innovation", CII has said.

A steering committee, chaired by Dr. R A Mashelkar, director general, CSIR and comprising leading members from Industry, Academia, & Government is working towards lending face, by way of Scientific and Organizational Support to the event and to deliberate upon the key issues surrounding the current R&D scenario in India, the focus of the conference. The delegate profile includes government officials, regulatory bodies, representatives from industry, academic institutions, research laboratories, scientists, lawyers and fellows/students.
