CIL collaborates with IROATECH to develop & distribute IROA Biochemical Quantitation Kits
Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. (CIL) has announced that the company is working together with IROA Technologies LLC (IROATECH), a leading developer of novel analytical tools for accurate metabolic analysis, to help develop and distribute IROA Biochemical Quantitation Kits worldwide for metabolic profiling of various cell populations and biological samples.
Isotopic ratio outlier analysis (IROA) is an innovative technology that is designed to overcome the analytical challenges of untargeted/targeted metabolic profiling. These challenges minimally pertain to analytical variance, artifactual peaks, and metabolite identification. The basic IROA protocol uses metabolic incorporation of heavy (95% 13C) and light (5% 13C) nutrients, such as D-glucose and other carbon energy sources, to give rise to unique labeling patterns that can be readily identified and distinguished by mass spectrometry. Such a method would be useful in inter-laboratory qualitative/quantitative evaluations, if widely available.
The IROA Biochemical Quantitation Kits (basic, phenotypic, and fluxomic) contain the reagents and tools necessary for successful metabolic labeling, identification, and quantitation of metabolites in various cell populations and biological samples.
Kit features and benefits: Eliminates technical and analytical variance ? increases reliability; Removes artifacts and noise ? increases precision and determination of metabolome; Reproducible identification of knowns/unknowns; Accurate, relative quantitation; Automated solution (via IROA's ClusterFinder software); Easy statistical interpretation of sample results (via IROA's Assay Portal); Broad sample applicability with experimental perturbations being user-defined.
Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. (CIL) is the world's premier supplier of stable isotopes and stable isotope-labeled compounds for research applications in structural biology, proteomics, genomics, molecular biology, metabolic research, clinical and diagnostic research, and ultra-trace environmental analysis.
IROATECH develops analytical tools to simplify the measurement of metabolites for multiple applications including general research, diagnostics, toxicology, agriculture, and bioprocess.
