Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, has introduced safe and innvoative heat transfer fluids for leading players in the heating, ventilation and airconditioning (HVAC) industry in view of the growing demand for efficient and safe manufacturing solutions in India.

Clariant’s Business Unit Industrial & Consumer Specialties introduced its innovative heat transfer mediums – Antifrogen L, Antifrogen N and Protectogen C aqua to the HVAC industry during the recently concluded National Conclave on ‘Strengthening of Farm-to-Consumer Cold-Chain Infrastructure’, organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Antifrogen L is a mono-propylene glycol-based heat transfer fluid, for special use in the pharmaceutical and food industry, where hygenic manufacturing is critical. Its permanent usage temperature ranges from -25 to +150 °C.

Antifrogen N is a monoethylene glycol based heat transfer fluid for industrial applications, like closed hot water heating systems, cooling and refrigeration equipment, heat pumps, gravity systems and wind energy turbines. Its permanent usage temperature ranges from -50 to +150 °C.

Protectogen C aqua is a glycol-free, long-lasting corrosion inhibitor concentrate for cold water systems with closed heating or cooling circuits, and which do not require frost protection. The recommended permanent usage temperature is +5 to +95 °C.

Clariant’s customers using these solutions will be provided additional support such as performance checks, sample analysis, and technical consulting.

With sustainability gaining paramount importance in the HVAC industry, these solutions contain a highly efficient combination of inhibitors providing corrosion prevention and long term stability. All these solutions are inhibited without the use of nitrite, amine, borate, phosphate and silicate, and do not contain CMR substances (Cancerogenic-Mutagenic-Reprotoxic).
