The union ministry of commerce has decided to find a lasting solution to the continuing Chemexcil-Pharmexcil row. The ministry officials are to meet this week to discuss the matter and resolve all issues pertaining to export promotion of drugs and pharmaceuticals.

The official sources said, "The commitments made by the Chemexcil to foreign agencies on drug export promotional events would be honored with. There will also be a decision on the future of pharma panel of Chemexcil as exclusive rights for issuing RCMC have been given to Pharmexcil."

It is known that the ministry of commerce is in favour of smooth co-existence of both the councils. Even if Chemexcil is asked to hand over all the responsibilities relating to pharma exporters to Pharmexcil, it may take some more time to sort out all the issues, sources said.
