CPhI Worldwide has announced their call for entries to the annual CPhI Pharma Awards. Celebrating its 10th consecutive year and for the first time ever the award entries are now open to the entire pharma industry and will celebrate the most innovative and dynamic areas across the global pharma community.
The awards recognise thought leadership on a global scale, unveiling top pharma innovators to global trade. They honour companies who are driving forward industry changing initiatives across innovation within three broad categories – ‘Formulation’, ‘Process Development’ and ‘Packaging’- with just one winner to each prestigious award. The CPhI Worldwide 2013 exhibition runs from October 22 to 24 at the Messe Frankfurt and winners of the CPhI Pharma Awards will be announced at a ceremony during the evening on October 22.
CPhI is now accepting applications for the 2013 CPhI Pharma Awards, open to individuals and companies who have developed innovations in pharma over the past year.
“The CPhI Pharma Awards are the ideal opportunity to present exciting, breakthrough innovations to the pharmaceutical industry. We are proud to be entering our 10th year of running the awards to acknowledge and recognise the sheer determination and efforts that companies pour into their work,” Andrew Pert, Pharma Brand Director noted.
“This year we have three categories and there will be one winner for each- Best Innovation in Formulation, Best Innovation in Process Development and Best Innovation in Packaging. Not only do companies receive the recognition that they deserve for their outstanding innovations, but entry into the Pharma Awards also gives unrivalled exposure to the media, whilst raising company profiles amongst key pharmaceutical industry professionals and VIPs,”he added.
Last year at the Feria de Madrid in Spain, Haemopharm Healthcare was awarded gold in the Best Innovation category for their needle free vial closure- designed to connect a syringe and vial without any further components; the innovative needle-free system facilitated an easier administration of parenteral drugs. Merck Millipore took silver for their drug delivery platform using silica, which takes full advantage of the large surface area and good transport properties that silica possesses. The bronze award was won by Bio Clin BV for their Multi-Oral Remin remineralisation gel for application in the oral cavity- a self-care product especially suitable for people that regularly take medication.
Entries are now open to both exhibitors and visitors of CPhI Worldwide, as well as the wider pharma community through to July 26 . After the deadline the jury panel will meet to select the finalists for each category; the panel includes senior figures from companies including CU Chemie Uetikon, Merck & Cie and PharmAccel Consulting. Finalists will present their innovations during the morning of the first show day October 22 to the jury, press and visitors. The winners will then be formally announced during the awards ceremony and reception taking place the same evening at the Messe Frankfurt Europa Room.
