CREMA to invest Rs 5cr for setting up its academy at Malad this month
The newly formed Clinical Research Education and Management Academy (CREMA) will be investing Rs 5 crore initially for setting up the centre at Malad, Mumbai. The Academy which will begin operations during this month is planning to set up new centres at Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Calcutta and Ahmedabad soon.
Speaking to Pharmabiz, Vijay Moza, chairman, said, "We are shifting our entire institute to the new place and our existing location at Andheri, will be used as the corporate office. The location at Malad will be only for the conducting batches. We will be increasing our daily as well as weekend batches over there".
In the new set up it will offer subjects like, data management, pharmacovigilance and clinical research. The complete course duration will be of 15 months with course fees of Rs 3 lakh.
CREMA has also started batches at Bangalore. Currently, it is conducting one batch every day and four batches on weekend, which includes 50 students in each batch. After the expansion it will be able to conduct four batches every day and six batches on weekend. It has appointed four respective industry personalities as a daily faculty staff and more than 100 visiting faculties.
It has designed an industry-driven curriculum with the leader's objective mind. The curriculum will be upgraded on a regular basis to enable students and practitioners to stay up to date with prevailing practices and technologies impacting clinical research industry. In addition, a novel mentoring system has been devised, whereby members of the faculty comprising specialised with vast exposure to the clinical research industry.
Talking about future expansion plans, Moza, said, "In the next three years time, we will be having our presence at various other locations in India. Currently, we are targeting Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Chandigarh, Baroda and Lucknow for our next institute location".
