CRI Kasauli to host tenth National conference on IAVI on Nov 23, 24
The Central Research Institute (CRI) at Kasauli will host the tenth National Conference of the Indian Academy of Vaccinology and Immunobiology (IAVI) on November 23 and 24. The two-day conference will be inaugurated by Dr R K Srivasthava, director general of the Directorate of Health Services, India.
More than 200 scientists specialized in the manufacture of vaccines and sera representing private and public sectors will attend the conference. The specialists will discuss the latest in the field of vaccine and immunology, said Dr K R Mani, director of the Central Research Institute, Kasauli.
He said the scientific sessions will include paper presentations and brainstorming sessions covering research and development of New Generation Vaccines, Clinical Trials, Regulatory issues, Pre-clinical Animal studies, Vaccines for the pandemic H1N1 and Indian Pharmacopoeia - new perspectives. It will also highlight the cutting-edge advance in the field of immunobiologicals and feature recent findings from leading vaccinologists, immunobiologists, bio-technologists and academic experts in the form of lectures, exhibitions and mainstreaming sessions.
The conference will be unique in promoting the translational nature of modern biomedical research in vaccinology. It will provide a forum for in-depth assessment of challenges in the sphere of immunobiologicals focusing on the topics such as Pandemic H1N1 vaccines and biosafety level facilities, newer generation vaccines, monoclonal antibodies as replacement therapeutics, clinical trials and regulatory issues.
