CTS planning increased exposure in healthcare related sector in the country
Chennai headquartered Congizant Technology Solutions (CTS) is planning to increase its exposure in the healthcare related sector in India owing to the increased opportunities in the domestic market, according to Mohan Narayanan, Vice President, Projects. The healthcare sector the world over was the least affected sector from recession.
CTS, according to Narayanan, are all set to increase its allocation for projects in the healthcare sector. He however did not divulge the allocation of funds for projects in the health care sector. He maintained that there were a lot of opportunities in the Indian market. "We have started turning to the Indian pharmaceutical segment with the pharma sector becoming more and more global," he further added.
The two key potential areas the company will be exploring are Research and Development (R&D) and sales force automation. " A lot of investments are flowing into R&D and new drug delivery systems. Clinical trials are being outsourced to India and CTS was working with US companies in this space," he said.
The efficiency of the sales force was becoming a major competing factor for all the pharmaceutical companies with the systems getting more global. Sales force had to be aligned to optimise distribution and profits on drugs. CTS had developed good IT systems that would help companies to improve their efficiency on sales force, Narayanan said.
He said at any point of time, CTS worked with 15 to 16 health plans in the healthcare sector including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
