The Delhi Pharmacy Council (DPC) has decided to carry out comprehensive renewal of all existing registrations within a span of three months beginning from January 2004. The council has announced specific dates for the registered pharmacists to approach DPC with necessary certificates and required renewal fee for the purpose.
According to SL Nasa, registrar, DPC, renewal of registration of pharmacists registered with DPC is a statutory requirement failing which the names would be struck off from the registers.
As per the DPC announcement pharmacists possessing registration numbers up to 5,000 should get their registrations renewed in January. The DPC will take up the cases of another 4,000 registrations in February. All remaining candidates are to approach the council in March.
The dates and the registrations that can be renewed during the period are: January 1 - 9 (No 1 - 3000), January 10 - 21 (No 3001 - 4000) and January 22 - 31 (No 4001 - 5000), February 3 - 11 (5001 - 6400), February 12 - 20 (6401 - 7700), February 21 - 28 (7701 - 9000), March 1 - 11 (9001 - 10500), March 12 - 20 (10501 - 12000) and March 21 - 31(12001 - 13377).
The registrar wanted the pharmacists to approach the council with all supporting documents like original certificate of registration, identity card, passport size photographs and a bank draft of Rs 550.
