DIPSAR conducts quality improvement programmes in pharmacy sciences
Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Research (DIPSAR) has organised a series of quality improvement programmes for the academicians from across the country. The programmes, sponsored by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) were on the topics- "recent advances in pharmaceutical sciences" and "recent advances in pharmacology."
According to Prof S S Agrawal, several eminent speakers from India and abroad specializing in various fields of pharmacy and medicine delivered lectures during these programmes.
Prof Agrawal said that DIPSAR had been identified as the quality improvement programme cell by AICTE for continuing pharmacy education to teachers of various colleges of India to upgrade their knowledge and skills since the year 1999, besides admitting them for career advancement in various disciplines of Master in Pharmacy and Doctorate programmes. The workshops organised by DIPSAR were part of this programme.
The institute has also been identified by AICTE as the host institution for National Doctorate Fellowship Scheme and Early Faculty Induction Programme.
During the past 12 quality improvement programmes, the institute has updated the knowledge and expertise of about 400 teachers from 170 colleges from 21 states across the country on recent advances in all disciplines of pharmaceutical sciences.
The institute is one of the best pharmacy institutes in India with strength of approximately 500 students. "In the highly competitive environment, the institute is capitalizing on its strength such as academic innovation, comprehensive training, and flexible educational delivery systems. The institute imparts Masters degree in various specialisations like pharmacology, pharmaceutics, hospital pharmacy and quality assurance. Recently institute has been approved by science faculty for starting of new M Pharm courses in pharmaceutical management, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharma regulatory affairs, herbal drug technology and clinical trials and research," Prof Agrawal explained.
