Divi's Laboratories net jumps by 73% to Rs 32.73 cr

Divi's Laboratories has clocked impressive financial performance during the third quarter ended December 2006. Its net profit has taken a quantum jump of 73.2 per cent to Rs 32.73 crore from Rs 18.90 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Its net sales increased by 38.6 per cent to Rs 149.62 crore from Rs 107.98 crore. The earning per share for the quarter worked out to Rs 25.54 as compared to Rs 14.74 in the last period.

For the nine months period ended December 2006 Divi's net profit reached at Rs 90.76 crore from Rs 47.58 crore in the similar period of last year, registering a growth of 90.8 per cent. The company's net sales increased by 85.7 per cent to Rs 471.83 crore from Rs 254.02.

Its plant at Chippada, Bheemunipatnam Mandal near Visakhapatnam was successfully inspected by the US FDA without any observations. The purpose of this inspection was for product pre-approval and general cGMP.
