Divi's net profit up by 54% in third quarter

Hyderabad-based custom synthesis and active pharma ingredient manufacturer Divi's Laboratories has posted a 42 per cent rise in net profit with Rs.50.92 crore for the nine months ended December 2003 as against Rs.35.74 crore registered for the corresponding period last fiscal.

The company's total income during the period increased by 11 per cent to Rs.215.2 crore (Rs.194.3 crore). There was an increase of Rs.56.72 crore (Rs.2.3 crore decrease) in stocks, which helped the company to post higher profits.

Earnings per share were higher at Rs.39.73 from Rs.30.95. For the quarter ended December, the company's net profit jumped 54.24 per cent to Rs.20.26 crore (Rs.13.14 crore). Total income rose by 17.71 per cent to Rs.85.04 crore from Rs.72.25 crore. Income from operations increased from Rs.68.94 crore to Rs.82.30 crore at 19.38 per cent.
