Divi's net up by 6.7 % in FY'06

Divi's Laboratories net profit improved marginally by 6.7 per cent during the year ended March 2006 to Rs 70.47 crore from Rs 66.03 crore in the previous year. Its net sales reached at Rs 381.11 crore from Rs 347.38 crore, registering a growth of 9.7 per cent. The earning per share worked out to Rs 54.98 as against s 51.51 in the last year.

The board of directors stepped up equity dividend to 100 per cent from 80 in the 2004-05. The company's expansion project is likely to be operations in the current year. Its reserves & surplus increased by 21.1 per cent to Rs 328 crore from Rs 271 crore.

The company has incorporated two subsidiaries, one in the US and the other in Switzerland for marketing active pharma ingredients and nutraceuticals and great reach to customers within these regions. The company is implementing expansion projects for specialty ingredients, active pharma ingredients and custom synthesis products at Chippada, Bheemunipatnam and are expected to commence operations during 2006-07.
