Dr. B Sripathy Rao takes charge as Karnataka Drugs Controller (In charge)

Karnataka Drugs Control department is now headed by Dr B Sripathy Rao who has taken charge as Drugs Controller (In charge). The change came in after the superannuation of the drugs controller MN Ramamurthy.

Dr Sripathy Rao is a doctorate in Pharmacognosy from the University of Mysore. He has been serving the State Drugs Control department for the last 36 years. Prior to his promotion as Karnataka Drugs Controller (In charge) he held the post of Deputy Drugs Controller at the headquarters in Bangalore. Before that he served as the Deputy Drugs Controller, Mysore for Blood Bank and Intelligence department. His job called to oversee the activities of the six districts in the State : Mysore, Kodagu, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, South Kanara and Udupi, which had 28 blood banks. According to him the standards of blood banking in these districts was well organized.
