Dr Cherian's Frontier Lifeline plans a medical village with 1000 bed bio-medical hospital
The Chennai based healthcare provider, Dr K M Cherian's Frontier Lifeline Hospital is launching a mega project in a hamlet away from the state capital. It plans a Medical Village with a multi specialty bio-hospital with 1000 beds in a quiet village area in Thiruvalluvar district. An area of 350 acre was bought and process of constructing infrastructure facilities have already begun, according to Dr K M Cherian, chairman and CEO of the Frontier Lifeline Hospital.
The project which will be known as Frontier Lifeline Mediville will cost near about Rs.1500 crore, and be completed in another five years, Dr Cherian told Pharmabiz.
The Medical Village will comprise a Medical College with research facilities, a Medical Science Park, Bio-hospital, Herbarium, Medical University, Research & Training Centre, Sterile Bio-Medical Corridor Medicinal Plant Garden with 300 species of plants, one zodiac park of 27 trees and residential buildings. The Medical village will be a modern high-tech village more than any developed city in the world, he hoped.
As part of the mega project, Dr K M Cherian's Frontier Lifeline Hospital in Chennai has signed an MoU with the BSNL for providing world class telecommunication facilities in the site. As per the agreement, BSNL will provide complete telecom solutions, including voice, data, WiFi hotspots, video and audio conferencing facility, broadband, leased lines and wireless services at the Frontier Mediville.
The MoU was signed in the presence of P Velusamy, chief general manager, BSNL, Chennai and Dr K M Cherian, chairman and CEO of Frontier Lifeline Hospital.
While speaking to the media, Dr Cherian said BSNL will cater to all the telecommunication requirements of the Medical Village. "In the upcoming Frontier Mediville, we are committed to providing the best in terms of reliable and state-of-the-art secured networks with a bouquet of voice, video and data services. We are pleased to partner with BSNL in this endeavour", he said.
While speaking, BSNL chief said the company is pleased to partner with the hospital in its efforts to make Frontier Mediville, the preferred destination for every kind of medical need for every individual.
The company will provide landlines with CLIP phones, free phoner plus services, free centrex, mobile services, Broad band and WiFi services, EPBAX and voice solutions, Mobile CUG, VSAT solutions, Blackberry solutions and smart PCOs.
Frontier Mediville will comprise of a SEZ, on the NH 5 near Gummidipundi. It is completely a green project set amidst a rural background with proper energy utilisation and waste management. Due emphas is on research and basic sciences would be given to focus on a world class medical science park. The facilities in the project will require the best available communications world wide in order to meet the growing dependence on the world wide web and telecommunications. He said no communication towers are planned in the Mediville in order to preserve the ecological balance.
