Prof Dr K Chinnasami has been elected as the president of Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council following the resignation of Dr B Suresh from the post.
Dr Suresh has voluntarily resigned from the post as he cannot devote sufficient time to the state PC matters because of his busy schedule with other offices. He heads many organizations and institutions including Pharmacy Council of India and Indian Pharmaceutical Society besides serving as the vice-chancellor of JSS University, Mysore. Hence the election of a new president to the Council was necessitated.
Dr Chinnasami, the pharma expert, was the former professor of Pharmacognosy in the Madras Medical College, who did his Ph D in Pharmacy after completing M Sc in Pharmacy.
Currently, he is working as the Emeritus professor at the JSS College of Pharmacy, Ootty. He is also one of the executive committee members of the Pharmacy Council of India from 2008.
