Dr. Reddy's Laboratory Ltd., Hyderabad, has been licensed to manufacture hydrogel burn or injury dressings, a technology developed by Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology (BRIT), under Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC). A technology transfer agreement was signed to this effect during April, this year.

Dr. Reddy's Lab. is the second company to get this technology developed by BARC, after ABS Medicare Pvt. Ltd., Vadodara. J.K. Ghosh, chief executive, BRIT and Jaspal Singh Bajwa, president, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd, signed the agreement, recently.

Also, BRIT has signed a MoU with Jadavpur University, Kolkata to set up a food irradiation facility, which will be used for research as well as commercial operations. The facility will also be used for training. Under this agreement, BRIT will provide the technical know- how for setting up the plant and will supply the cobalt source needed for the plant.
