Dr Reddy’s Laboratories won the top exporter award for two consecutive years by bagging the award for the years 2001-02 and 2002-03. Insituted by the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ) to the best performing export-oriented units (EOUs) and SEZ units, Dr Reddy’s won the award among the overall top exporters in the state. The company’s exports totalled Rs 300.58 crore during 2002-03. While the award for the year 2001-02 was presented by Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Ch Vidyasagar Rao, the award for 2002-03 was presented by Minister for Major Industries K Vidyadhar Rao.

The second position in the year 2001-02 among top exporters was bagged by Tata Coffee Ltd, while I Process Pvt Ltd came third. In 2002-03, the second position went to Rain Calcining Ltd (Rs 208.03 crore), while I Process Pvt Ltd (Rs 98.83 crore) retained its third position. In the SEZ units category, Worldwide Diamond Manufacturers Pvt Ltd was at the top for two consecutive years.
