DuPont, one of the world’s premier science companies, announced the endowment of the ‘Dupont Chair’ at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

The ‘DuPont Chair’ is funded by an endowment from the DuPont Center for Collaborative Research and Education of US $100,000 and will address basic research in the areas of material science, life sciences and polymers.

The appointee to the ‘DuPont Chair’ will be for no more than two years, which may be renewed, and will be selected by a committee formed by IISc as per their norms. The ‘DuPont Chair’ maybe occupied by a current faculty member within IISc or top researchers of other institutions and will include research visits by the DuPont Chaired professor to DuPont laboratories, national laboratories and other similar institutions.
