Elder Pharma net up by 36.5% in Q4

Elder Pharmaceuticals, which crossed revenue of Rs 500 crore during 2007-08, has posted better performance during the fourth quarter ended March 2008. The company's net sales for the quarter increased by 33.3 per cent to Rs 156.40 crore from Rs 118.24 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The company's net profit went up by 36.5 per cent to Rs 20.42 crore from Rs 14.96 crore. Its profit before interest, depreciation and taxation also increased by 34.7 per cent to Rs 33.30 crore.

For the full year ended March 2008, Elder's net profit increased by 36.1 per cent to Rs 71.80 crore from Rs 52.77 crore. With significant improvement in profitability, its earning per share for the year 2007-08 worked out to Rs 38.21 crore as against Rs 28.87 crore. The company's net sales reached at Rs 548 crore as compared to Rs 449 crore in the previous year.
