Pune based Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited has commissioned its new Export Oriented Manufacturing Unit (EOU) at the International Biotech Park in Hinjewadi near Pune. The company has built this facility complying with cGMP standards and is expecting approvals for the plant from regulatory authorities around the world.
Emcure has invested Rs. 37 crore in developing the facility, which can produce 600 crore tablets/capsules per annum.
Manufacture of bio-pharmaceuticals and APIs would be the thrust area for the company. It also has plans to conduct R&D.
Emcure was the first to introduced S-Amlodipine and S-Atenolol in the country. The company is also supplying anti-retrovirals to African countries for cost-effective treatment of HIV.
